We Didn't Want to Make Just Another Lion's Mane Product. We Wanted to Make It Better.
There are plenty of Lion's Mane products on the market. That was never the problem. The problem was that most of them left too much on the table.
Too little thought given to how the mushroom is grown. Too little innovation in how its functional compounds are unlocked. Too much compromise when it comes to taste, texture, and the actual experience of using it every day.
At First Person, that was never going to be good enough.
We believed Lion's Mane had more to offer — more intelligence in the way it was made, more potential in the way it performed, more value in the way it could fit into real life. So we started where all meaningful innovation starts: at the source.
It began with the mushroom itself
We chose to grow our own fruiting body Lion's Mane mushrooms on hardwood — the way they grow in nature. That mattered to us. Not because it sounds romantic, but because quality starts upstream. If you want a better ingredient, you need a better raw material.
But growing a better mushroom was only the beginning.
Some of Lion's Mane's most interesting functional compounds — including hericenones — are bound up within the mushroom's cell walls, which are made of chitin. Human beings do not efficiently break down chitin. So even if a mushroom contains valuable compounds, that does not automatically mean your body can access them effectively.
Having Lion's Mane is not the same as benefiting from Lion's Mane.
That distinction shaped everything that came next.
We built an extraction process to unlock what matters
To get more from Lion's Mane, we developed a proprietary extraction method designed to release the functional compounds from the cell walls — moving Lion's Mane from being merely present to being more available to the body.
But even then, we weren't finished. We wanted to improve bioavailability further. We wanted to eliminate the bitterness and grit that too often come with mushroom products. We wanted to create something that felt as advanced in experience as it was in formulation.
That search led us to a biotechnology partner specializing in a process called co-crystallization.
The science that changed everything
Co-crystallization is a precise process in which two or more molecules are combined under tightly controlled conditions, bonding to form an entirely new crystalline structure. This is not trend science. It is proven science — used for more than a century to improve the performance of medicines by enhancing solubility, stability, and absorption.
What is Crystallized Lion's Mane?
Crystallized Lion's Mane is the result of combining First Person's proprietary extraction process with pharmaceutical-grade co-crystallization technology — producing a form of Lion's Mane that is soluble, rapidly absorbed, and tasteless by design.
No grit. No bitterness. No earthy aftertaste. Just the functional compounds your brain can actually use, delivered in a form engineered for fast activation and effortless daily use.
This is not a formulation. It is not a blend. It is a structurally new ingredient — and it is the foundation of everything Think Fast was built on.
It was only when co-crystallization was combined with our proprietary extraction process that something genuinely new emerged: Crystallized Lion's Mane — a smooth, neutral ingredient that integrates effortlessly into a daily ritual while supporting sharper thinking, clearer focus, and a more elevated cognitive experience.
Then we took on coffee
Even after creating Crystallized Lion's Mane, we still felt there was more to do. We had been putting Lion's Mane in our coffee for years — and the truth is, we never loved the result. It checked the box. It did not raise the standard.
Coffee is a ritual. It is how mornings begin. It is how focus is initiated. It is the signal that the brain is online and the day has started. We did not want to interrupt that ritual with something that felt medicinal, muddy, or second-rate. We wanted to upgrade it.
We tested more than 40 different coffees before finding one that met our standard. Not just good enough. Not close enough. Worthy of a First Person customer. The bar was high because the experience had to be complete: premium taste, beautiful solubility, clean and immediate in the cup.
That's how Think Fast was born
Think Fast is the culmination of that journey. Premium single-origin instant coffee. Crystallized Lion's Mane. And then one final leap forward: we co-crystallized them together — creating not just coffee plus Lion's Mane, but a new integrated structure, a more elegant delivery system, a smoother and cleaner cup designed to perform as beautifully as it tastes.
The result is a cup of coffee that does more than wake you up. It helps light your brain up within minutes.
Think Fast was designed for people who want more from their morning ritual: more clarity, more readiness, more mental sharpness, more intention in how they start the day. The premium coffee delivers the familiar lift. Crystallized Lion's Mane brings a new dimension — supporting focus and cognitive performance in a form designed for fast activation and effortless use.
No grit. No earthy aftertaste. No compromise disguised as wellness. Just a smooth, clean cup of coffee that feels advanced because it is.
Why this matters for brain performance
At First Person, we believe cognitive performance is shaped by what you do every single day. Not once in a while. Every day. That is why delivery matters. That is why absorption matters. That is why experience matters.
If something tastes bad, feels inconvenient, or turns a ritual into a chore, most people will not stay with it long enough to benefit. But when science, taste, and daily behavior align, something more powerful happens: performance becomes sustainable.
Brain OnCrystallized Lion's Mane was designed to support the brain in a more effective form. Think Fast was designed to make that support feel effortless, premium, and immediate in the ritual people already love most.
Because the future of cognitive enhancement should not be gritty. It should not be bitter. And it should not feel like a sacrifice. It should feel smooth, intelligent, and unmistakably better.
That is what we made. That is Think Fast.
